Damaso Odol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Felix Firme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 10th minute Octavio Vidal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Firme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Damaso Odol might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Felix Firme. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Damaso Odol ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 27th minute, Everardo Platon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rigoberto Gaspard was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. boca juniors's Felix Firme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Octavio Vidal in the 32nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Jáuregui defense, Everardo Platon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rigoberto Gaspard. The Jáuregui fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rigoberto Gaspard should have stopped the shot. Felix Firme made an important save on a dangerous shot by Damaso Odol in the 43rd minute. Damaso Odol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Felix Firme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Damaso Odol recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind boca juniors's goalkeeper Felix Firme, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jáuregui's Damaso Odol got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, boca juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Octavio Vidal came free, but Felix Firme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Firme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Octavio Vidal, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Felix Firme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damaso Odol in the 75th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Octavio Vidal made a precise shot to the right of Felix Firme. boca juniors's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Damaso Odol struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Felix Firme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jáuregui.
