Spartak de Moscú's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arturo Favila was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Juan Richie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 29th minute, Agustin Frederico got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 35thth minute of the game Arturo Favila who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rocha FC's Orlando Ieltxu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Juan Richie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rocha FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan Richie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Felipe Orlondon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Spartak de Moscú's zone, Agustin Frederico stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felipe Orlondon came out of the goal and Agustin Frederico tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Felipe Orlondon came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Rocha FC's Juan Richie. But to his dismay, Juan Richie quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Juan Richie's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Felipe Orlondon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arturo Favila to strike the kick off in the second half. Orlando Ieltxu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arturo Favila, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Orlando Ieltxu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arturo Favila, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
