Arnout Van Eycke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Mouricio, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. The audience was convinced that Marco Mouricio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnout Van Eycke was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Narciso Bieito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Everardo Cordeiro having to interfere. In the 39th minute Nestor Mazuste shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Van Eycke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Gondra AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Mouricio came free, but Arnout Van Eycke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Lolo Mondejar fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gondra AFC's protests and gave Lolo Mondejar a yellow card for diving instead. In the 43rd minute, Lolo Mondejar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marco Mouricio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnout Van Eycke having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marco Mouricio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Robustiano Vimaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Robustiano Vimaro might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arnout Van Eycke. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robustiano Vimaro ran back to his position shaking his head. When LA GUARDIA IMPERIAL's Marco Mouricio in 70 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Arnout Van Eycke guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Arnout Van Eycke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Mouricio in the 73rd minute of play. Everardo Cordeiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Narciso Bieito went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Gondra AFC's Arnout Van Eycke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Mouricio in the 89th minute of play. Robustiano Vimaro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Arnout Van Eycke made a huge save. Robustiano Vimaro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arnout Van Eycke having to make a save. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Gondra AFC's goalkeeper Arnout Van Eycke, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. LA GUARDIA IMPERIAL's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
