In the 6th minute of the match, Wilfredo Erasto tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Filomeno Argenis saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Remigiusz Banan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Rik in the 13th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Italó FC's Siro Tab got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 20th minute, Italó FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Wilfredo Erasto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After some careless play in the Italó FC defense, Teobaldo Egoi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Filomeno Argenis. The Italó FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Filomeno Argenis should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wilfredo Erasto in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Filomeno Argenis saved Italó FC from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Italó FC's zone, Wilfredo Erasto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filomeno Argenis came out of the goal and Wilfredo Erasto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 33rd match minute, Italó FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Siro Tab to maneuver through the defense. 34 minutes into the match, Wilfredo Erasto dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Filomeno Argenis, 2-0. If Teobaldo Egoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Teobaldo Egoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filomeno Argenis having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Wilfredo Erasto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The wind increased when Wilfredo Erasto made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Conrado Bermudez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filomeno Argenis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 54 minutes, Wilfredo Erasto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glorioso Vélez Sársfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wilfredo Erasto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Conrado Bermudez came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Glorioso Vélez Sársfield fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Conrado Bermudez couldn't finish the play. Teobaldo Egoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Filomeno Argenis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Italó FC's Filomeno Argenis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilfredo Erasto in the 92nd minute of play. Filomeno Argenis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Delmar Elequemedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
