But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hugo Hegoi couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Felix Bikendi kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Isidro Gilabert. That made the score 1-0 in the 17 minute of play. Constituyentes CF's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Felix Bikendi 22 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. Hugo Hegoi came free with the goalkeeper in the 25th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Isidro Gilabert could save by the left post. 27 minutes into the match, Constituyentes CF's Leonides Ipar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Samuel Bermudo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Raul Erasto took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Samuel Bermudo. Samuel Bermudo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in Buenos Aires United's zone, Raul Erasto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuel Bermudo came out of the goal and Raul Erasto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raul Erasto took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Samuel Bermudo. Samuel Bermudo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After 43 played minutes Constituyentes CF got a freekick which was hit by Leonides Ipar. A collision led to Constituyentes CF getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Anier Nesto hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leonides Ipar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Bikendi in the 53rd minute of play forced Constituyentes CF's goalkeeper Isidro Gilabert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Raul Erasto got free with Samuel Bermudo in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Raul Erasto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
