If Froilan Enekoitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 54th minute of the match Leonardo Ursino shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cayetano Paz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Candido Noe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paso's supporters rose to their feet, but Candido Noe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cayetano Paz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind C. A. Academia's goalkeeper Cayetano Paz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 62 minutes into the game, Paso's Honorio Munio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cayetano Paz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Honorio Munio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paso's supporters rose to their feet, but Honorio Munio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cayetano Paz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Paso's Celso Precioso got control of the ball when Alberto Madaleno tried to sneak it across the goal line. Academia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Santiago Mosen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Israel Prejun's late challenge caught a C. A. Academia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Israel Prejun helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of C. A. Academia booed when Paso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Israel Prejun didn't get a good kick on the ball. Santiago Mosen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Celso Precioso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adan Paz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celso Precioso having to interfere. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
