The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Benedicto Etxahun kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Recre defense, Benedicto Ignatius kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mariano Cibran. The Recre fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mariano Cibran should have stopped the shot. Piratas FC's Isaac Paul got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fabio Hernando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonides Omero having to interfere. Benedicto Ignatius's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mariano Cibran read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. If Tomás Peli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mariano Cibran made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benedicto Ignatius in the 19th minute. In the 21st match minute, Piratas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedicto Etxahun to maneuver through the defense. Benedicto Ignatius's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 27thth minute, Mariano Cibran skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a defensive mix-up in Recre's zone, Benedicto Ignatius stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mariano Cibran came out of the goal and Benedicto Ignatius tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 33rd minute, Benedicto Ignatius hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 34 minutes, Benedicto Etxahun mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Piratas FC and the Recre players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Recre booed when Piratas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benedicto Etxahun didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomás Peli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Leonides Omero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabio Hernando in the 46th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomás Peli was the one to do the kick off. After 51 minutes, Natalio Justin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Piratas FC and the Recre players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 52nd match minute, Piratas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Natalio Justin to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomás Peli in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonides Omero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 56 minutes into the match, Piratas FC's goalkeeper Leonides Omero had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabio Hernando. 60 minutes into the match, Isaac Paul notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Recre's Mariano Cibran. Mariano Cibran was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 71 minutes into the game, Tomás Peli recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Leonides Omero. Tomás Peli showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Tomás Peli's late challenge caught a Piratas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomás Peli helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Recre getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Tomás Peli hit a great ball. 78 minutes into the match, Recre's goal looked a bit too open when Benedicto Ignatius came free, but Mariano Cibran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomás Peli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonides Omero having to interfere. When Benedicto Ignatius came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Piratas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benedicto Ignatius couldn't finish the play. In the 93rd match minute, Piratas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedicto Ignatius to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Piratas FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Recre had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
