The supporters of Independiente booed when Rosario Central was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saturnino Francis didn't get a good kick on the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Silvio Rio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eduardo Txindoki. Rosario Central's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Silvio Rio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavio Firmo in the 26th minute of play forced Independiente's goalkeeper Rene Onbera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saturnino Francis kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Remigio Cuartio in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eduardo Txindoki prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lucas Eleder got free with Rene Onbera in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Independiente's Anastasio Guillelme in 40 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Eduardo Txindoki guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. After some careless play in the Rosario Central defense, Silvio Rio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eduardo Txindoki. The Rosario Central fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eduardo Txindoki should have stopped the shot. If Silvio Rio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Remigio Cuartio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Eduardo Txindoki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Flavio Firmo made the kick off in the second half. Florencio Kaiet kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Rosario Central's Eduardo Txindoki proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Rosario Central from getting a goal against them. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Independiente's goalkeeper Rene Onbera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Flavio Firmo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rene Onbera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. When Florencio Kaiet fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Independiente's protests and gave Florencio Kaiet a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 72nd minute of the game. One of Independiente:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Rosario Central:s goal. In the 73rd minute there was a penalty for Rosario Central. Segundo Cristos stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rene Onbera. 3-2. Rene Onbera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flavio Firmo in the 78th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Rosario Central's Apolo Elixio got a free kick in the 79th minute. Eduardo Txindoki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Remigio Cuartio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd minute of the match Fabian Videl sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eduardo Txindoki skillfully saved the ball. In the 93rd minute, Remigio Cuartio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eduardo Txindoki made an important save on a dangerous shot by Timoteo Herensuge in the 97th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Apolo Elixio during the 99th minute.
