The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Serafino Hernando during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Botafogo FR booed when Cabrera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serafino Hernando didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Botafogo FR's Pastor Euloxu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ezequiel Ibon. That made the score 1-0 after 11 minutes of play. Danilo Hermelando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Cerilo in the 19th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 22nd minute of the game. One of Cabrera:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Botafogo FR:s goal. After 23 minutes Cabrera's goalkeeper Ezequiel Ibon managed, with a little bit of luck, save Pastor Euloxu's penalty, on his right side after a tricky shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pastor Euloxu in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ezequiel Ibon saved Cabrera from getting behind. Norberto Calisto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Ezequiel Ibon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pastor Euloxu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ezequiel Ibon having to make a save. Pastor Euloxu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ezequiel Ibon having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Ezequiel Ibon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Ubaldo Chorche put it in 8-0 from a short distance just to the right of Ezequiel Ibon. In the 88th minute, Pastor Euloxu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 93 minutes, Pastor Euloxu made it 9-0 with a short kick to the right side. Cabrera's Ezequiel Ibon tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. There was no doubt that Botafogo FR were the better team. Botafogo FR's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
