After a defensive mix-up in Chumillo AFC's zone, Alejandro Mateus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Remigio Llanos came out of the goal and Alejandro Mateus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 18th minute, Eugenio Arias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Remigio Llanos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amancio Baraquiel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Real Palermo's Vinicio Cristofol proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Real Palermo from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Chumillo AFC defense, Tomás Senen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Remigio Llanos. The Chumillo AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Remigio Llanos should have stopped the shot. Albano Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Real Palermo's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
