Orlando Phelipe hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Fernando Nikola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Nueva Chicago getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Rosendo Gora hit a great ball. After 27 played minutes, Chapaleofú's Daniel Mendez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Candido Jatsu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Chapaleofú reached it. When Ambrosio Belarmo fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chapaleofú's protests and gave Ambrosio Belarmo a yellow card for diving instead. After 29 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Chapaleofú! Fernando Nikola might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Candido Jatsu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fernando Nikola ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nueva Chicago's goalkeeper Candido Jatsu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bernabe Niva charged in rather forcefully in the 48th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bernabe Niva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 47th minute of the game. One of Nueva Chicago:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Chapaleofú:s goal. In the 49th minute there was a penalty for Chapaleofú. Daniel Mendez stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Candido Jatsu. 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jesus Urtsua stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. With his leg Candido Jatsu managed to avoid a goal in the 88thth minute, when Chapaleofú's Fernando Nikola fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
