Severino Abaunza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lyon FC. After a defensive mix-up in El Aeronauta FC's zone, Clodoveo Gabon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Severino Abaunza came out of the goal and Clodoveo Gabon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. El Aeronauta FC's Severino Abaunza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Primitivo Gomesano in the 19th minute of play. In the 21st minute Primitivo Gomesano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severino Abaunza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Teo Serapio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the game, Elias Urre was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lyon FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El Aeronauta FC the free kick. In the 23rd match minute, Lyon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elias Urre to maneuver through the defense. If Teo Serapio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Simon Guerau stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Simon Guerau fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The supporters of Lyon FC booed when El Aeronauta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cecilio Teyo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute there was a penalty for Lyon FC. Elias Urre stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Severino Abaunza. 1-1. When Simon Guerau came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the El Aeronauta FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simon Guerau couldn't finish the play. Teo Serapio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 75th minute Simon Guerau shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severo Fe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Teo Serapio got free with Severo Fe in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alejo Rosalio hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. El Aeronauta FC were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after Lyon FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Niceto Berto took the corner. El Aeronauta FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Niceto Berto in the 82nd minute. A nice corner shot did that Niceto Berto got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Severo Fe quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Clodoveo Gabon struck a weak shot in the 91st minute.
