In the 3rd minute, Hector Eguerdi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Esquel fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 7 minutes into the match, Esquel's goalkeeper Higinio Bikendi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sebastian Chayo. Esteve Firmin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Higinio Bikendi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Esquel's zone, Esteve Firmin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Higinio Bikendi came out of the goal and Esteve Firmin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sebastian Chayo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Higinio Bikendi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Remigio Mateus came out of the goal and Hector Eguerdi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Remigio Mateus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Teyo in the 24th minute of play. 26 minutes into the game, Esteve Firmin recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Higinio Bikendi. Esteve Firmin showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Remigio Mateus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hector Eguerdi, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Sebastian Chayos short, quick shot in the 36thth minute got Higinio Bikendi to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 43 minutes into the game, Miami Heat's Sebastian Chayo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Higinio Bikendi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Hector Eguerdi made the kick off in the second half. After 56 minutes, Melchor Sotil mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Esquel and the Miami Heat players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Esquel getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Melchor Sotil hit a great ball. Remigio Mateus made an important save on a dangerous shot by Donato Teyo in the 58th minute. After 61 played minutes Esquel got a freekick which was hit by Lucio Nafarroa. Donato Teyo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Remigio Mateus made a huge save. 64 minutes into the match, Esquel's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Chayo came free, but Higinio Bikendi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sebastian Chayo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Israel Mannuel kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. 2-3 became the score in the 79th minute when Hector Eguerdi elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Sebastian Chayo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastian Chayo in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Higinio Bikendi saved Esquel from getting behind. Higinio Bikendi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Esteve Firmin, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. The Miami Heat manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Esquel to win.
