With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lucas Eusko prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lucas Eusko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudio Maju in the 6th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the match, Cachiñal's goalkeeper Lucas Eusko had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cleto Jerrald. In the 17th minute Claudio Maju shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucas Eusko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cachiñal's Sergio Osorio got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 22 minutes into the match, Cachiñal's goalkeeper Lucas Eusko had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cleto Jerrald. After 23 played minutes Gatitos del Sur got a freekick which was hit by Javier Cebrian. After a defensive mix-up in Gatitos del Sur's zone, Pedro Donostia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeremias Cai came out of the goal and Pedro Donostia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gatitos del Sur's Jeremias Cai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Donostia in the 27th minute of play. Sergio Osorio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lucas Eusko made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cleto Jerrald in the 36th minute. In the 47th minute, Rigoberto Ignazio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 48th minute, Claudio Maju got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pedro Donostia was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Cachiñal's zone, Claudio Maju stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lucas Eusko came out of the goal and Claudio Maju tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 59th minute, Eriberto Bastia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Gatitos del Sur booed when Cachiñal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arsenio Cai didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Donostia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremias Cai having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Cachiñal's Rigoberto Ignazio got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 78th minute, Venancio Nesto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 83rd minute Cleto Jerrald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucas Eusko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Cleto Jerrald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 87 minutes into the game, Claudio Maju cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Lucas Eusko was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Cleto Jerrald came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Gatitos del Sur fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cleto Jerrald couldn't finish the play. Claudio Maju struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Lucas Eusko didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gatitos del Sur. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Gatitos del Sur fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cachiñal had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
