After having played for 22 minutes, Generoso Rumaldo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atletico Rio Tercero's supporters crossed their fingers, but Generoso Rumaldo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A hard shot by Virgilio Jax from long distance, 27 minutes into the match, got Ovidio Pereyra's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 28th minute, Generoso Rumaldo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 30 minutes into the match, Villalonga's goal looked a bit too open when Romulo Ovando came free, but Ovidio Pereyra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ovidio Pereyra made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Romulo Ovando sent off a good shot on target. When Romulo Ovando came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Club Atletico Rio Tercero fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romulo Ovando couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Froilan Astudillo put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Luciano Baladi.
