After a defensive mix-up in Cosacos FC's zone, Cristobal Dacio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabricio Bermudo came out of the goal and Cristobal Dacio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cosacos FC's Anselmo Ricart got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 11 minutes into the game, Deportivo Merlo's Gaspar Txartiko nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabricio Bermudo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Roque Valerio was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tomas Claude showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 17 minute of play. Anselmo Ricart received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Roque Valerio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Gaspar Txartiko had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fabricio Bermudo. Cosacos FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gaspar Txartiko was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Cristobal Dacio hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Fabricio Iyan's late challenge caught a Cosacos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabricio Iyan helped the player get up and apologised. Anselmo Ricart who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 48thth minute tested the skills of Roque Valerio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gaspar Txartiko was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anselmo Ricart in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roque Valerio saved Deportivo Merlo from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Merlo's Anacleto Eudoxio got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Anselmo Ricart's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roque Valerio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Roque Valerio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Claude, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gaspar Txartiko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Fabricio Bermudo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Deportivo Merlo booed when Cosacos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anastasio Birila didn't get a good kick on the ball. 77 minutes into the match, Cosacos FC's goalkeeper Fabricio Bermudo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristobal Dacio. 80 minutes into the game, Angelino Mon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cosacos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo Merlo the free kick. After a rather tough play, Cosacos FC's Angelino Mon got a free kick in the 80th minute. In the 86th minute, Gaspar Txartiko reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Fabricio Bermudo. The goal made the score 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Claude in the 91st minute of play forced Deportivo Merlo's goalkeeper Roque Valerio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arsenio Pudes kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Deportivo Merlo's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
