Modesto Cutberto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Placido Polo in the 3rd minute of the match. In the 3rd match minute, Villarreal F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelo Casado to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Placido Polo in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Modesto Cutberto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 9 minutes, Carolo Peter mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bagual and the Villarreal F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Villarreal F.C booed when Bagual was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carolo Peter didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Cipriano Cordarrell could shoot a difficult shot in the 11th minute, which Teddy Roche however easily saved by the left post. Villarreal F.C's Modesto Cutberto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Placido Polo in the 13th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Villarreal F.C's Angelo Casado got a free kick in the 17th minute. Bagual's Tirso Garmendia couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 20th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Villarreal F.C. Gerardo Pudes's late challenge caught a Bagual's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gerardo Pudes helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Bagual booed when Villarreal F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerardo Pudes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gerardo Pudes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teddy Roche having to interfere. 29 minutes into the match, Villarreal F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Placido Polo came free, but Modesto Cutberto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Placido Polo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carolo Peter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Villarreal F.C's zone, Placido Polo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Modesto Cutberto came out of the goal and Placido Polo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Modesto Cutberto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Placido Polo in the 44th minute of play. Gerardo Pudes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teddy Roche having to interfere. Gaspar Gonsalvo hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Cipriano Cordarrell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teddy Roche having to interfere. In the 63rd minute Carolo Peter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Modesto Cutberto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 65th minute, Cipriano Cordarrell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 66th minute, Carolo Peter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Placido Polo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bagual's Carolo Peter got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Placido Polo struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Modesto Cutberto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bagual. Bagual's Teddy Roche played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cipriano Cordarrell in the 74th minute of play. Modesto Cutberto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carolo Peter in the 76th minute of play. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Villarreal F.C's goalkeeper Modesto Cutberto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 96th minute Carolo Peter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Modesto Cutberto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Villarreal F.C supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Bagual's performance. The match ended with a win for Bagual.
