The referee felt a red card was in order, 14 minutes into the game, when Denis Dei put in a rough tackle. 13 minutes into the game, one of NEWELLS 74:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 16th minute, La Ortiga Futbol Club's Rafael Oriol dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Severo Hitzeder made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 19thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Victorio Gentza would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Laureano Bizi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 25 minutes into the match, NEWELLS 74's Alfredo Cayo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilberto Mikeldi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 27 played minutes NEWELLS 74 got a freekick which was hit by Hernan Caitano. NEWELLS 74's Victorio Gentza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save NEWELLS 74 from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Maximiliano Koldobika's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Victorio Gentza was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfredo Cayo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Gilberto Mikeldi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Laureano Bizi was the one to do the kick off. The La Ortiga Futbol Club fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. NEWELLS 74 were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
