The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes into the match, Deportivo sarmiento fc's goal looked a bit too open when Elpidio Garoa came free, but Faustino Belarmo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st match minute, LA CUMBANCHA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jesus Serafo to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Raimundo Aznar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jaime Ignado was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. 26 minutes into the game, Jesus Serafo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. A very good chance. In the 36th minute, Raimundo Aznar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Braulio Shantala in the 38th minute of play forced Deportivo sarmiento fc's goalkeeper Faustino Belarmo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the LA CUMBANCHA FC defense, Raimundo Aznar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jaime Ignado. The LA CUMBANCHA FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jaime Ignado should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Faustino Belarmo was out of position in the 54 minute of play, and Braulio Shantala capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Braulio Shantala really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. If Braulio Shantala had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaime Ignado came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Deportivo sarmiento fc's Raimundo Aznar. But to his dismay, Raimundo Aznar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. If Raimundo Aznar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. LA CUMBANCHA FC's Braulio Shantala got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Braulio Shantala came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the LA CUMBANCHA FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Braulio Shantala couldn't finish the play.
