Lisandro Suarez's late challenge caught a Salguero's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lisandro Suarez helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Lisandro Suarez hit a great ball. In the 7th match minute, Salguero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Salvador Dolcet to maneuver through the defense. Vicente Enaut received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Efrain Lauren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Romulo Orkatz came free, but Elias Bernal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elias Bernal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Salvador Dolcet in the 16th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Salvador Dolcet ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Elias Bernal was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Elias Bernal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Salvador Dolcet in the 20th minute of play. When Salguero's Salvador Dolcet in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye River Plate's goalie prevented a goal. After 31 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Lisandro Suarez. After some careless play in the River Plate defense, Salvador Dolcet kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elias Bernal. The River Plate fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elias Bernal should have stopped the shot. In the 44th minute Salvador Dolcet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elias Bernal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Vicente Enaut hit a great ball. After the first half Salguero were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Salvador Dolcet made a kick off. In the 57th minute, Gustavo Guillelmo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ismael Berdoi took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Elias Bernal. River Plate's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Salvador Dolcet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Elias Bernal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romulo Orkatz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Elias Bernal made a huge save. After having played for 76 minutes, Vicente Enaut managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vicente Enaut was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Salguero defense, Vicente Enaut kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Efrain Lauren. The Salguero fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Efrain Lauren should have stopped the shot. With his leg Elias Bernal managed to avoid a goal in the 90thth minute, when Salguero's Romulo Orkatz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Vicente Enaut received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Efrain Lauren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 94 minutes into the match, Salguero's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Enaut came free, but Efrain Lauren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Salguero had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
