Emilio Alvarez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaias Lugo having to interfere. Venancio Nisio kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Venancio Nisio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roberto Macario read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. When RIVER PLATE's Hilario Silbestre in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye canarios AFC's goalie prevented a goal. 14 minutes into the game, one of RIVER PLATE:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. RIVER PLATE:s Isaias Lugo showed great skill when he stopped Celedonio Nevada:s penalty. Celedonio Nevada took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Isaias Lugo. Isaias Lugo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. If Mauro Celipe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emilio Alvarez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Isaias Lugo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mauro Celipe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emilio Alvarez struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Isaias Lugo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for canarios AFC. Isaias Lugo was out of position in the 28 minute of play, and Mauro Celipe capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mauro Celipe really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Tadeo Guillelmus hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 33rd minute Hilario Silbestre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Macario saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ambrosio Firman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Roberto Macario tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 40 in the game by Mauro Celipe from a close distance when the talented Isaias Lugo managed to make a qualified save. RIVER PLATE's players were relieved. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When Cornelio Abadie fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RIVER PLATE's protests and gave Cornelio Abadie a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to RIVER PLATE getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Cornelio Abadie hit a great ball. Emilio Alvarez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isaias Lugo having to interfere. A very good chance. canarios AFC's Mauro Celipe got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dionisio Raitin charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dionisio Raitin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to canarios AFC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Dionisio Raitin hit a great ball. RIVER PLATE's Ambrosio Firman got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emilio Alvarez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. There was no doubt that canarios AFC were the better team. canarios AFC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
