Herminio Chale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gogo Iturri in the 3rd minute of the match. 4 minutes into the match, Rahué's Cecilio Joey sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mario Palos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vicente Oskarbi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Mario Palos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 9 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Independien's goalkeeper Mario Palos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cecilio Joey. Mario Palos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vicente Oskarbi in the 10th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Vicente Oskarbi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rahué's supporters rose to their feet, but Vicente Oskarbi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mario Palos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gerardo Bide's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mario Palos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Independien's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Oskarbi came free, but Mario Palos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Baltasar Quiroga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Herminio Chale was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Vicente Oskarbi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rahué's Vicente Oskarbi got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vicente Oskarbi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vicente Oskarbi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Mario Palos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atlético Independien's goalkeeper Mario Palos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 67 minutes in the game, Hernan Brion fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Herminio Chale having to interfere. In the 72nd minute, Gogo Iturri got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Gogo Iturri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernan Brion in the 80th minute of play forced Rahué's goalkeeper Herminio Chale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vicente Oskarbi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Mario Palos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
