Rodrigo Roderigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugenio Celino having to interfere. In the 40th minute Baldomiro Diaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugenio Celino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of San Lorenzo AFC booed when Los Amigos de Pulga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Everardo Berdaitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Teofilo Gaitano made the kick off in the second half. Jesus Oxarra made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Abel Lehior sent off a good shot on target. Teofilo Gaitano's late challenge caught a San Lorenzo AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Teofilo Gaitano helped the player get up and apologised. The San Lorenzo AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jesus Oxarra should have stopped the shot. Jesus Oxarra was out of position in the 90 minute of play, and Teofilo Gaitano capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Teofilo Gaitano really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Rodrigo Roderigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
