In the 29th minute Celestino Grabiel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nemesio Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Celestino Grabiel took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nemesio Batista. Nemesio Batista dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Clemente Cordeiro struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Evelio Gorosti didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Naranja Mecanica. Evelio Gorosti made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Oscar Gilen sent off a good shot on target. When Severo Sugar fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Salto's protests and gave Severo Sugar a yellow card for diving instead. In the 45th minute, La Naranja Mecanica's Clemente Cordeiro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Clemente Cordeiro made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Ruperto Mincho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Salto's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave La Naranja Mecanica the free kick. In the 52nd match minute, Salto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruperto Mincho to maneuver through the defense. Fernando Valente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nemesio Batista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celestino Grabiel, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Salto walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
