A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After having played for 6 minutes, German Orkatz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. velez's supporters crossed their fingers, but German Orkatz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Candido Mannie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Teo Francho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teo Francho came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by San Lorenzo de Almagro's Justo Jeraldo. But to his dismay, Justo Jeraldo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Teo Francho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Candido Mannie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Camilo Lico hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Justo Jeraldo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Teo Francho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to velez getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Lisandro Matxin hit a great ball. Teo Francho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Justo Jeraldo in the 23rd minute of the match. If Justo Jeraldo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Paolo Remir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The velez players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. San Lorenzo de Almagro were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Candido Mannie was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo de Almagro's Candido Mannie sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Teo Francho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 54th match minute, velez was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Lico to maneuver through the defense. After 56 played minutes Candido Mannie rounded velez's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Candido Mannie managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Lorenzo de Almagro's supporters rose to their feet, but Candido Mannie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teo Francho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 66thth minute of the game Rigoberto Intxixu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but San Lorenzo de Almagro's Guaberto Veto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Candido Madeo kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Teo Francho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Candido Mannie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of San Lorenzo de Almagro booed when velez was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Freddy Videl didn't get a good kick on the ball. German Orkatz struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Guaberto Veto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for velez. Justo Jeraldo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Teo Francho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Camilo Lico charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Camilo Lico the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Teo Francho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Candido Mannie in the 92nd minute of play. Guaberto Veto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rigoberto Intxixu, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. In the 95th minute, German Orkatz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The velez fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. San Lorenzo de Almagro had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
