After a defensive mix-up in Meandes's zone, Arnaldo Ramirez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgardo Camerino came out of the goal and Arnaldo Ramirez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 6th minute, Arnaldo Ramirez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Meandes's David Gentza got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 11th minute, Gaston Urdaspal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Despeñaderos's Gaston Hug got a free kick in the 12th minute. After a rather tough play, Meandes's Sebastian Matthew got a free kick in the 17th minute. Pastor Modestio hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. A collision led to Despeñaderos getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Victoriano Jerano hit a great ball. Edgardo Camerino was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The Meandes players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Despeñaderos were winning 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for David Gentza to strike the kick off in the second half. In a very dangerous position, a player in Despeñaderos fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 51st minute. Penalty! In the 52nd minute, David Gentza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Meandes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Pastor Modestio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, David Gentza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meandes's supporters rose to their feet, but David Gentza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gregorio Calisto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 60th match minute, Despeñaderos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cirilo Tano to maneuver through the defense. Gaston Hug kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Despeñaderos's goalkeeper Gregorio Calisto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cirilo Esquipula hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. After 65 minutes of play, Meandes's David Gentza made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gregorio Calisto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Edgardo Camerino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vinicio Vidal in the 70th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Meandes's goal looked a bit too open when Cirilo Esquipula came free, but Edgardo Camerino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Despeñaderos's Gregorio Calisto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Gentza in the 73rd minute of play. Gregorio Calisto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pastor Modestio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th match minute, Despeñaderos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnaldo Ramirez to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute, Cirilo Esquipula reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Edgardo Camerino. The goal made the score 2-3. Arnaldo Ramirez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Edgardo Camerino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 90 minutes, Gaston Urdaspal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Despeñaderos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gaston Urdaspal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Despeñaderos made a substitution. Severo Ignado replaced Leonides Palos. After a rather tough play, Meandes's Sebastian Matthew got a free kick in the 95th minute. The Despeñaderos supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Despeñaderos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
