Braulio Figueroa hit a great ball. In the 4th minute of the match Cornelio Txomin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Emilio Garoa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Israel Firmo charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Israel Firmo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Israel Firmo kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Despeñaderos's Gaston Urdaspal got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emilio Garoa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnaldo Ramirez in the 10th minute. Gaston Urdaspal struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Emilio Garoa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Despeñaderos. In the 24th minute, Despeñaderos's Gaston Hug seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Gaston Hug the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Despeñaderos protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Gaston Hug had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 23 minutes into the game, one of Despeñaderos:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristobal Ovando in the 28th minute of play forced Despeñaderos's goalkeeper Gregorio Calisto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emilio Garoa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gaston Urdaspal's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Emilio Garoa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaston Urdaspal, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 37th minute Cirilo Esquipula shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Garoa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gaston Urdaspal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Emilio Garoa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vinicio Vidal kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gaston Urdaspal made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldo Pinto in the 56th minute of play forced Despeñaderos's goalkeeper Gregorio Calisto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gaston Urdaspal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Emilio Garoa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaston Urdaspal in the 62nd minute of the match. Gaston Urdaspal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Emilio Garoa having to make a save. After some careless play in the Viamonte FC defense, Gaston Urdaspal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emilio Garoa. The Viamonte FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emilio Garoa should have stopped the shot. Israel Firmo hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Braulio Figueroa from long distance, 76 minutes into the match, got Gregorio Calisto's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Gaston Urdaspal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emilio Garoa having to interfere. In the 81st minute Gaston Urdaspal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Garoa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Despeñaderos's Gaston Urdaspal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emilio Garoa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 84th minute Vinicio Vidal suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After a rather tough play, Viamonte FC's Clodoveo Telmo got a free kick in the 84th minute. Despeñaderos's Denis Bidun was substituted for Arnaldo Ramirez. In the 86th minute, Clodoveo Telmo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emilio Garoa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cirilo Esquipula in the 88th minute of the match. 91 minutes into the game, Natalio Eztebe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Viamonte FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Despeñaderos the free kick. Gaston Urdaspal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Emilio Garoa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Viamonte FC getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Clodoveo Telmo hit a great ball. Emilio Garoa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaston Urdaspal in the 98th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Despeñaderos players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
