Metán AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tobias Ongile was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ruben Lambafoss breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Serafin Ekialde received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. The supporters of NIBIRU booed when Metán AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Genaro Eguzki didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Alberigo Savini fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored NIBIRU's protests and gave Alberigo Savini a yellow card for diving instead. In the 30th minute, José Duval made a precise shot to the right of Marcelino Delfino. Metán AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Serafin Ekialdes short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Marcelino Delfino to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ruben Lambafoss made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Genaro Eguzki in the 37th minute of play. Serafin Ekialde who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 39thth minute tested the skills of Marcelino Delfino when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Eduardo Lizardi hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tobias Ongile to make the kick off. Ruben Lambafoss showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tobias Ongile, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. If Tobias Ongile had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ruben Lambafoss didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Genaro Eguzki went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Metán AFC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though NIBIRU had controlled the match.
