Rueda's Arnulfo Madaleno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bebeto Catarinense in the 12th minute of play. The supporters of Mogigasta booed when Rueda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arturo Nazario didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Ernesto Berto from long distance, 14 minutes into the match, got Arnulfo Madaleno's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Arnulfo Madaleno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bebeto Catarinense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the match, Bebeto Catarinense notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Rueda's Arnulfo Madaleno. Arnulfo Madaleno was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Mogigasta's Bebeto Catarinense in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rueda's goalie prevented a goal. Arnulfo Madaleno came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Mogigasta's Jacinto Cortez. But to his dismay, Jacinto Cortez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. 26 minutes into the match, Rueda's goal looked a bit too open when Bebeto Catarinense came free, but Arnulfo Madaleno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnulfo Madaleno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bebeto Catarinense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Arnulfo Madaleno managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when Mogigasta's Bebeto Catarinense fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bebeto Catarinense in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnulfo Madaleno saved Rueda from getting behind. After having played for 31 minutes, Santo Orlanda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mogigasta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Santo Orlanda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bebeto Catarinense in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnulfo Madaleno saved Rueda from getting behind. In the 34th minute of the match Mogigasta got a corner. Rueda's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Virgilio Gurutz ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 35 played minutes Rueda got a freekick which was hit by Alfonso Aurken. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bebeto Catarinense in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnulfo Madaleno prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vicente Idacio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Arnulfo Madaleno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Bebeto Catarinense's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnulfo Madaleno was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Arnulfo Madaleno was out of position in the 42 minute of play, and Bebeto Catarinense capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bebeto Catarinense really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. In the 47th minute Bebeto Catarinense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnulfo Madaleno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bebeto Catarinense stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Bebeto Catarinense cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Arnulfo Madaleno was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Mogigasta fans' excitement grew in the 57th match minute when Mogigasta's Bebeto Catarinense looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 60th minute, Bebeto Catarinense made a precise shot to the right of Arnulfo Madaleno. Rueda's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0. When Mogigasta's Bebeto Catarinense in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Filiberto Otoniel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-1. Arnulfo Madaleno stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bebeto Catarinense's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bebeto Catarinense in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnulfo Madaleno saved Rueda from getting behind. In the 91st minute, Arturo Nazario hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Mogigasta had played much better football throughout.
