The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 39th minute, when Cieneguita PQ's Carlos Tonete after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Jorge Cucao in Maggiolo AFC's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. Maggiolo AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Cieneguita PQ booed when Maggiolo AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cosme Dominix didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd minute, Roberto Fenomeno ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jorge Cucao was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. The throw-in from Cosme Dominix in the 75th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Cieneguita PQ's Patrick Viera. After some careless play in the Maggiolo AFC defense, Roberto Fenomeno kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jorge Cucao. The Maggiolo AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jorge Cucao should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Cieneguita PQ getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. David Fresco hit a great ball. In the 86th minute Artemio Peyo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mazarópi Gaúcho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cieneguita PQ's Roberto Fenomeno got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
