In the 8th minute Domingo Oliverio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Iturri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingo Oliverio in the 11th minute of play forced SAN LORENZO's goalkeeper Carlos Iturri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfonso Telesforo struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Carlos Iturri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Douglas Haig. SAN LORENZO's Carlos Iturri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Telesforo in the 27th minute of play. Faustino Ignado kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Faustino Goi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SAN LORENZO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Carlos Iturri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Telesforo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th match minute, SAN LORENZO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rogelio Mancio to maneuver through the defense.

Peder Wållander came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by SAN LORENZO's Natalio Cordarius. But to his dismay, Natalio Cordarius quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Douglas Haig were furious when Americo Beti was red carded, 59 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 58th minute of the game. One of Douglas Haig:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SAN LORENZO:s goal. Peder Wållander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Faustino Goi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Melchor Dolfos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeremias Richie during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Melchor Dolfos took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Peder Wållander. Peder Wållander dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. Natalio Cordarius blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Peder Wållander having to make a save. Severo Bordat scored 6-1 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Peder Wållander, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With an all-out effort, Douglas Haig's Carlos Iturri threw himself towards the right post 85 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alfonso Telesforo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 88 played minutes Douglas Haig got a freekick which was hit by Justo Tonio. Faustino Goi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peder Wållander having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Natalio Cordarius in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Peder Wållander prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to SAN LORENZO getting a freekick after 95 minutes play.
