The audience was convinced that Nereo Frantzes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Florentino Abecia was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Florentino Abecia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nereo Frantzes in the 39th minute. In the 46th minute Siro Fertus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ezequiel Loreto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Lucio Leocadio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. ACADEMICOS FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Philipps AFC the free kick. When Philipps AFC's Nereo Frantzes in 88 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Florentino Abecia guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Pastor Etxeberri got his second yellow card in the match during the 89th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Philipps AFC booed when ACADEMICOS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pastor Etxeberri didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Siro Fertus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
