The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Segundo Jaizki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Inocencio Isauro hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After 12 minutes, Segundo Jaizki mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Astrolabio and the Coghlan FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Coghlan FC booed when Astrolabio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Segundo Jaizki didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adan Berenguer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alejo Lano in the 15th minute of the match. Jose Jayvier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Claudio Naelio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Naelio in the 23rd minute of play forced Astrolabio's goalkeeper Adan Berenguer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alejo Lano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adan Berenguer having to interfere. Ariel Firmin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Adan Berenguer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 30 minutes of play, Coghlan FC's Claudio Naelio made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Adan Berenguer was left in no man's land by his defense there! Segundo Jaizki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ariel Firmin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adan Berenguer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Claudio Naelio notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Astrolabio's Adan Berenguer. Adan Berenguer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Braulio Loiola came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Coghlan FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Braulio Loiola couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alejo Lano was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alejo Lano got free with Adan Berenguer in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alejo Lano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Segundo Jaizki in the 60th minute of play forced Coghlan FC's goalkeeper Honorio Cristos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Coghlan FC's Jose Jayvier got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alejo Lanos short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Adan Berenguer to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jose Jayvier struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Adan Berenguer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coghlan FC. If Alejo Lano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Coghlan FC's Ariel Firmin got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adan Berenguer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alejo Lano in the 69th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Alejo Lano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Astrolabio's Inocencio Isauro got a free kick in the 71st minute. If Alejo Lano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Astrolabio's goalkeeper Adan Berenguer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jose Jayvier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alejo Lano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adan Berenguer having to interfere. Erasmo Millrick recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alejo Lano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adan Berenguer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alejo Lano in the 92nd minute. Coghlan FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
