Rene Herensuge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulises Dacio having to interfere. The throw-in from Eliseo Panpili in the 10th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Uraguey's Timo Broos. Anibal Pero hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Gabriel Gustavsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ulises Dacio was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. The supporters of Uraguey booed when INDEPENDIENTE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carolo Gaizko didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute Gabriel Gustavsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulises Dacio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rene Herensuge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Ulises Dacio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ulises Dacio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rene Herensuge in the 30th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the game, Uraguey's Rene Herensuge nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ulises Dacio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The coaching staff of INDEPENDIENTE protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Carolo Gaizko had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch.
