Melquiades Fiz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benigno Chuse, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Melquiades Fiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonatan Berriotxoa in the 38th minute of the match. 40 minutes into the match, Imperio del Sur's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Senin came free, but Melquiades Fiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Senillosa's Jonatan Berriotxoa got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Imperio del Sur's Melquiades Fiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Senin in the 48th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After 77 played minutes Imperio del Sur got a freekick which was hit by Cesar Gorri. Melquiades Fiz came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Senillosa's Gustavo Bou. But to his dismay, Gustavo Bou quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Senillosa's Manuel Senin came free and shot a quick shot against goal 96 minutes in the game, fortunately Melquiades Fiz had problems saving as it came toward the left post. The Senillosa players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
