Severo Ereinotz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Melquiades Etor in the 9th minute of the match. ᴄʟᴜʙ ᴀᴛʟᴇᴛɪᴄᴏ ᴛᴜᴄᴜᴍᴀɴ were awarded a corner in the 11th minute after EL CELE FUTBOL CLUB's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mauro Galeno took the corner. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arturo Hitz got free with Eduardo Arnas in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Severo Ereinotz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucio Nabar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to EL CELE FUTBOL CLUB getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Zeledon Vigil hit a great ball. Arturo Hitzs short, quick shot in the 22ndth minute got Eduardo Arnas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 32nd minute Melquiades Etor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severo Ereinotz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lili Oddang received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Eduardo Arnas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The ᴄʟᴜʙ ᴀᴛʟᴇᴛɪᴄᴏ ᴛᴜᴄᴜᴍᴀɴ fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when ᴄʟᴜʙ ᴀᴛʟᴇᴛɪᴄᴏ ᴛᴜᴄᴜᴍᴀɴ's Melquiades Etor looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 42 minutes into the match, EL CELE FUTBOL CLUB's goal looked a bit too open when Melquiades Etor came free, but Severo Ereinotz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rosendo Enaut recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lili Oddang stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lili Oddang in the 66th minute of play forced ᴄʟᴜʙ ᴀᴛʟᴇᴛɪᴄᴏ ᴛᴜᴄᴜᴍᴀɴ's goalkeeper Eduardo Arnas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Severo Ereinotz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eduardo Arnas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arturo Hitz, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute.
