When Martín Palermo came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Ascacibar-Pérez fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martín Palermo couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Ascacibar-Pérez's Cleto Estavan got a free kick in the 47th minute. The Espituille FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ascacibar-Pérez were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Feliberto Txema to make the kick off. Alonzo Eron hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Martín Palermo's late challenge caught a Espituille FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Martín Palermo helped the player get up and apologised. Martín Palermo kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Espituille FC made a substitution. Pascual Bittor replaced Domingos Guifre. 75 minutes into the game, Ascacibar-Pérez's Aristides Santos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Victor Guillelmo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Ascacibar-Pérez's Eulalio Elija was substituted for Erasmo Clis. The audience thought a goal was coming when Martín Palermo got free with Victor Guillelmo in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ascacibar-Pérez's Desiderio Izotz was substituted for Martín Palermo. Victor Guillelmo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eulalio Elija, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The Espituille FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ascacibar-Pérez were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
