Joaquin Kemen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dante Mercurio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. Alfonso Alfonso hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Lorenzo Gagriel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Federico Firme was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. If Cayetano Oihan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Federico Firme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustin Savion, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfonso Alfonso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Mercurio having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Ferrocarril Este's Norberto Oto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dante Mercurio. That made the score 1-0 after 16 minutes of play. If Cayetano Oihan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the match, Ferrocarril Este's goal looked a bit too open when Edgardo Breogan came free, but Federico Firme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Mercurio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfonso Alfonso in the 27th minute. After 29 minutes, Joaquin Kemen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ferrocarril Este and the Cienaguilla players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 30 played minutes Ferrocarril Este got a freekick which was hit by Joaquin Kemen. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Breogan in the 34th minute of play forced Ferrocarril Este's goalkeeper Federico Firme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th match minute, Ferrocarril Este was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfonso Alfonso to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 39 in the game by Joaquin Kemen from a close distance when the talented Dante Mercurio managed to make a qualified save. Cienaguilla's players were relieved. Agustin Savion hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Ferrocarril Este's Cayetano Oihan managed to work through Cienaguilla's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Cayetano Oihan dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Joaquin Kemen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dante Mercurio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cayetano Oihan was the one to do the kick off. David Policarpio's late challenge caught a Cienaguilla's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. David Policarpio helped the player get up and apologised. Ferrocarril Este's Joaquin Kemen got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edgardo Breogan came free with the goalkeeper in the 63rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Federico Firme could save by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edgardo Breogan got free with Federico Firme in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Edgardo Breogan fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cienaguilla's protests and gave Edgardo Breogan a yellow card for diving instead. After 72 played minutes Cienaguilla got a freekick which was hit by Edgardo Breogan. Joaquin Kemen scored 3-0 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Mercurio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Edgardo Breogan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Federico Firme made a huge save. Norberto Oto kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Agustin Savion recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cayetano Oihan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Mercurio having to interfere. Federico Firme made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Edgardo Breogan sent off a good shot on target. 95 minutes into the match, Ferrocarril Este's Joaquin Kemen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dante Mercurio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 97th minute Cayetano Oihan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Mercurio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Ferrocarril Este players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
