The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes Tandil AFC got a freekick which was hit by Enzo Bingen. Hipolito Rubio kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Jairo Phelipe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narciso Farias in the 7th minute of play. Narciso Farias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jairo Phelipe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th minute of the match As de Copas got a corner. Tandil AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Timoteo Vito ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led As de Copas's Timoteo Vito to fire away a dangerous shot which Jairo Phelipe despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Pedro Luís do Nascimento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Guerau, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Jairo Phelipe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Ulizes in the 18th minute of play. Narciso Farias scored 0-2 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jairo Phelipe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 21st minute Timoteo Vito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jairo Phelipe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Timoteo Vito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jairo Phelipe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Narciso Farias in the 26th minute of the match. Jairo Phelipe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Narciso Farias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of As de Copas booed when Tandil AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciro Cordeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute Timoteo Vito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jairo Phelipe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Patricio Cisco managed to get in a good position for a shot. As de Copas's supporters rose to their feet, but Patricio Cisco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jairo Phelipe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Narciso Farias took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jairo Phelipe. Jairo Phelipe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. The attack was good, but when Patricio Guerau in the 46th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Patricio Guerau was the one to do the kick off. After 50 minutes, Narciso Farias made it 0-6 with a short kick to the right side. Tandil AFC's Jairo Phelipe tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Patricio Guerau in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Luís do Nascimento saved As de Copas from getting behind. Eustaquio Enmanuel kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. When As de Copas's Marijan Kempes in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tandil AFC's goalie prevented a goal. When the match clock showed 68 minutes, the score became 0-7 when Marijan Kempes sped through Tandil AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jairo Phelipe. Marijan Kempes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Guerau in the 75th minute of play forced As de Copas's goalkeeper Pedro Luís do Nascimento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute, Leonardo Aimar made a precise shot to the right of Jairo Phelipe. Tandil AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-8. In the 80th minute, Marijan Kempes made a precise shot to the right of Jairo Phelipe. Tandil AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-9. The crowd rose to their feet as Narciso Farias kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jairo Phelipe. That made the score 0-10 in the 84 minute of play. Tandil AFC's Jairo Phelipe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Tandil AFC from getting a goal against them. In the 87th minute, Marijan Kempes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jairo Phelipe. The goal made the score 0-11. Patricio Cisco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Jairo Phelipe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. As de Copas played a much better game than Tandil AFC and deserved their victory. The Tandil AFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
