When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Lino Guerrero put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Severiano Larpe. The El Fla fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Severiano Larpe should have stopped the shot. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cobos's goalkeeper Stelian Apostol, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonel Chesus in the 18th minute of play forced El Fla's goalkeeper Severiano Larpe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saverio Ferdinand in the 19th minute of play forced Cobos's goalkeeper Stelian Apostol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Marco Rufo advanced and headed the ball into goal, 1-3 in the 21st minute. Stelian Apostol made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Niceto Ascencio sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 32 minutes, Lino Guerrero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cobos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lino Guerrero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With 34 minutes on the clock, Marco Rufo commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After a rather tough play, El Fla's Marco Rufo got a free kick in the 34th minute. After 35 played minutes Cobos got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Chesus. 37 minutes into the game, Hugo Dodorol was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cobos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El Fla the free kick. After 37 played minutes Cobos got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Dodorol. An unexpected shot in the 42nd minute by Antonio Ekhi got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

A collision led to Cobos getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Patrick Lidman hit a great ball. Patrick Lidman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. El Fla's Severiano Larpe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save El Fla from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Cobos booed when El Fla was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nereo Gorbea didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th minute, Lino Guerrero ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Severiano Larpe was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Lino Guerrero in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Severiano Larpe, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Niceto Ascencio took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stelian Apostol. Stelian Apostol dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niceto Ascencio in the 87th minute of play forced Cobos's goalkeeper Stelian Apostol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th minute, Patrick Lidman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Niceto Ascencio managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Fla's supporters rose to their feet, but Niceto Ascencio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stelian Apostol breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 90 played minutes El Fla got a freekick which was hit by Niceto Ascencio. The supporters of El Fla booed when Cobos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victoriano Galoer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stelian Apostol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonio Ekhi in the 95th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Cobos walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
