Spectators: 7462 (Terracing: 5597, Seating: 1716, VIP seats: 149) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Arnaldo Laurgain got the match started through his kick off. La Escaloneta FC's Artemio Montrell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Eliazar in the 8th minute of play. With a little luck, La Escaloneta FC's Artemio Montrell got control of the ball when Arnaldo Laurgain tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to La Escaloneta FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Andres Erdiano hit a great ball. In the 12th minute of the match Esteve Edur sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Artemio Montrell skillfully saved the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alvaro Eliazar in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Artemio Montrell saved La Escaloneta FC from getting behind. In the 14th minute Alvaro Eliazar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artemio Montrell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the game, Patricio Izotz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. La Escaloneta FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave River Plate FC the free kick. A collision led to La Escaloneta FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Patricio Izotz hit a great ball. Arnaldo Laurgain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Placido Luzea in the 21st minute of play forced River Plate FC's goalkeeper Bernardo Fagondo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 23 minutes River Plate FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rodrigo Ostadar who took care of the corner kick. Arnaldo Laurgain's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Artemio Montrell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Artemio Montrell came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by River Plate FC's Arnaldo Laurgain. But to his dismay, Arnaldo Laurgain quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 30 minutes into the match, La Escaloneta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alvaro Eliazar came free, but Artemio Montrell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 32nd minute by Arnaldo Laurgain got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Arnaldo Laurgain in the 34thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Artemio Montrell, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With his leg Artemio Montrell managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when River Plate FC's Arnaldo Laurgain fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, La Escaloneta FC's Honorato Soter got a free kick in the 43rd minute. River Plate FC were awarded a corner in the 46th minute after La Escaloneta FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Esteve Edur took the corner.

River Plate FC made a substitution. Adolfo Costante replaced Santiago Frichoso. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Placido Luzea made a kick off. Dario Chorache charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dario Chorache the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After having played for 63 minutes, Patricio Izotz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Escaloneta FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Izotz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When River Plate FC's Candido Lazcano in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye La Escaloneta FC's goalie prevented a goal. Candido Lazcano took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Artemio Montrell. Artemio Montrell dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Artemio Montrell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Candido Lazcano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alvaro Eliazar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. River Plate FC's Joe Mercenario was substituted for Esteve Edur. 76 minutes into the match, La Escaloneta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Candido Lazcano came free, but Artemio Montrell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernardo Fagondo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Izotz, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Candido Lazcano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artemio Montrell having to interfere. In the 91st minute Alvaro Eliazar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artemio Montrell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. During the 91st minute of the match Patricio Izotz completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Patricio Izotz a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 92nd match minute, La Escaloneta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Izotz to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvaro Eliazar in the 92nd minute of play forced La Escaloneta FC's goalkeeper Artemio Montrell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Artemio Montrell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Candido Lazcano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. River Plate FC had played much better football throughout.
