Esparta FC's Luís Artime got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 22nd minute by Claudio Senin got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 22nd play minutes Luís Artime shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Fabian Marz and just under the crossbar into goal. Ruperto Sedenis short, quick shot in the 25thth minute got Fabian Marz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Esparta FC were awarded a corner in the 26th minute after LIONS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Efrain Trifol took the corner. German Lalla made a great header on Esparta FC's corner, it was just that LIONS's Fabian Marz managed to reach the ball for a save. Efrain Trifol kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Esparta FC's Hernan Lorencio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basilio Haimar in the 30th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, LIONS's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Artime came free, but Fabian Marz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Artime in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabian Marz saved LIONS from getting behind. In the 38th minute Luís Artime shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Marz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 44th minute, Luís Artime reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Fabian Marz. The goal made the score 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sebastian Vettel was the one to do the kick off. Aaron Montrelle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 57 minutes into the match, LIONS's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Artime came free, but Fabian Marz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 58 minutes of play, Esparta FC's Luís Artime made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fabian Marz was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 79 minutes LIONS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Efrain Trifol who took care of the corner kick. Esparta FC's Ruperto Sedeni was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fabian Marz in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís Artime in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabian Marz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ciriaco Atarratze during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Esparta FC booed when LIONS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciriaco Atarratze didn't get a good kick on the ball. 84 minutes into the game, Luís Artime cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-1. Fabian Marz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Esparta FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while LIONS had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
