The coaching staff of Deportivo Maria protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Paulo Tono had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 9 minutes into the game, one of Deportivo Maria:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 18 minutes into the game, Herminio Bilintx was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Facundouba FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo Maria the free kick. Lucas Beltrán recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bairon Iriarte struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Efrain Esquipula didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Maria. Facundouba FC's Efrain Esquipula played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bairon Iriarte in the 45th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Lucas Beltrán made the kick off in the second half. Gustavo Gutxi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The supporters of Deportivo Maria booed when Facundouba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melchor Gorka didn't get a good kick on the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Deportivo Maria's Bairon Iriarte sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Efrain Esquipula narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Efrain Esquipula dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Deportivo Maria's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
