Azcuenaga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elvio Quexal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Azcuenaga booed when ◀ Red Rooster ▶ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Federico Ekaitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in ◀ Red Rooster ▶'s zone, Gabriel Firmin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santo Rosalio came out of the goal and Gabriel Firmin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 15 minutes into the match, Azcuenaga's goalkeeper Inocencio Chano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gogo Frantzes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Firmin in the 17th minute of play forced ◀ Red Rooster ▶'s goalkeeper Santo Rosalio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gabriel Ciano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santo Rosalio having to interfere. Inocencio Chano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gogo Frantzes's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. After 24 played minutes Azcuenaga got a freekick which was hit by Elpidio Savier. Gogo Frantzess short, quick shot in the 25thth minute got Inocencio Chano to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Azcuenaga's Inocencio Chano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Azcuenaga from getting a goal against them. In the 27th minute Gogo Frantzes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Inocencio Chano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gabriel Firmin to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute of the match, Gabriel Firmin tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Santo Rosalio saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 52nd minute Elpidio Savier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santo Rosalio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
