Jedrzej Tomaka could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Arturo Guib made a huge save. 13 minutes into the game, Velez's Enrique Arósio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arturo Guib made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 16 minutes into the match, Jedrzej Tomaka dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Arturo Guib, 2-0. Jedrzej Tomaka could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Arturo Guib made a huge save. 25 minutes into the match, Velez's goal looked a bit too open when Teodosio Lop came free, but Fulgencio Rioja reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute of the match La Zabaleta got a corner. Velez's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mazinho Alcântara ran over to the corner to take the kick. La Zabaleta's Mazinho Alcântara was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fulgencio Rioja in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Amadeo Gizon kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Arturo Guib took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan-Sebastián Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. La Zabaleta's Herminio Cresconio was substituted for Robustiano Guillerme. Arturo Guib made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan-Sebastián Torres in the 45th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jedrzej Tomaka stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arturo Guib took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan-Sebastián Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 52nd minute Velez were awarded a corner. Enrique Arósio went to the cornerflag to take it. Arturo Guib came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Velez's Jedrzej Tomaka. But to his dismay, Jedrzej Tomaka quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. 57 minutes into the match, La Zabaleta's goal looked a bit too open when Jedrzej Tomaka came free, but Arturo Guib reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arturo Guib showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan-Sebastián Torres in the 63rd minute of the match. Enrique Arósio made a great header on Velez's corner, it was just that La Zabaleta's Arturo Guib managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 67thth minute of the game Juan-Sebastián Torres who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but La Zabaleta's Arturo Guib was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Arturo Guib showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan-Sebastián Torres, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. 72 minutes into the match, La Zabaleta's goal looked a bit too open when Juan-Sebastián Torres came free, but Arturo Guib reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Velez booed when La Zabaleta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodosio Lop didn't get a good kick on the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Velez fully deserved thier win.
