After taking down the ball on Removalist CF's corner Erubiel Aresti fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Fulgencio Rioja quite easily take care of the ball. Velez's Enrique Arósio got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fulgencio Rioja made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Kléberson Dantas sent off a good shot on target. Hermengildo Medero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Placido Telo having to interfere. Removalist CF's Placido Telo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermengildo Medero in the 20th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Velez's Juan-Sebastián Torres sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Placido Telo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Velez were awarded a corner in the 22th minute after Removalist CF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Enrique Arósio took the corner. Placido Telo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan-Sebastián Torres, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Fulgencio Rioja as he didn't even see the shot coming. A collision led to Removalist CF getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Romulo Venerando hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Velez's Enrique Arósio tried to score from far away in the 44th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Angelo Martinez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Placido Telo was a little too slow when Hermengildo Medero got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 51st minute. The score was now 1-2.
