Urbano Oto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 16th minute, Uriel Lleir ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Urbano Oto was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 20th minute, Uriel Lleir ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Francisco Kepa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Valentin Gau made a huge save. In the 37th minute, one of El Talar:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for El Talar. El Talar:s Urbano Oto showed great skill when he stopped Astor Barbosa:s penalty. Otto Broers charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Otto Broers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The Motu supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Motu would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
