Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gilberto Onofre in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rene Chale prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Monster Proyect's Vytautas Gudonis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raul Goyo in the 41st minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Rene Chale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tadeo Johans in the 53rd minute of the match.
