In the 69th minute, Zacarias Francesco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Characate FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. After a defensive mix-up in Hartlepool United F.C.'s zone, Gerardo Santikurtz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvio Oxel came out of the goal and Gerardo Santikurtz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 78th minute Zacarias Francesco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvio Oxel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Osvaldo Daunte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evelio Handi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Characate FC's Osvaldo Daunte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ceferino Iraitz in the 88th minute of play. Gerardo Santikurtz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvio Oxel having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, Ceferino Iraitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Characate FC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Zacarias Francesco hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Hartlepool United F.C.'s Bon Ladron got a free kick in the 95th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Characate FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
