Alfredo Horado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfredo Horado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dagoberto Neila, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sjef Kostermans in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcial Estavan saved INDEPENDIENTE F.C. from getting behind. In the 40th minute of the match INDEPENDIENTE F.C. got a corner. New Chelsea FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Omar Orlan ran over to the corner to take the kick. Alfredo Horado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dagoberto Neila in the 43rd minute of the match. Alfredo Horado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herminio Iratze, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

New Chelsea FC made a substitution. Mauricio Silvanito replaced Natalio Favila. INDEPENDIENTE F.C. walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
